Mark Zimmerer

Having come from a background of art and theatre, Mark began practicing yoga in 1989 and started teaching in 1994. In 2003, Mark moved from Billings, Montana to Boise, Idaho and turned his focus to yoga and massage therapy. He has taught yoga classes at the downtown YMCA, Eagle Yoga House, the Yoga Tree, 28th Street Barre, and various other locations around Boise and the Treasure Valley.

Mark teaches a variety of styles, although they all have the same goal. From vigorous ashtanga and vinyasa flow yoga classes, to precisely aligned hatha and gentle restorative yoga styles, Mark tries to suit each student's individual needs. “There is no ‘one size fits all’ in yoga- we all have different bodies, histories, and temperaments- one person’s helpful practice may be damaging to another. I try to help each individual find the poses and practices that will help them to balance body and mind.” Those practices also include pranayama, chanting, meditation and self-massage techniques.

Mark is currently registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500. He began Svadhyaya Yoga Teacher Training Apprenticeships - the ongoing teacher training program - for both 200 and 300 level yoga students in 2018.

He is a dad, husband, yoga teacher, independent licensed massage therapist, lover of art, theatre, dogs, cats, and landscapes.

Josie Kunzman

An Idaho native, Josie graduated from BSU in 2001 and began to work as an accountant. In 2010, she had a drastic career change and became a fitness instructor. She started teaching yoga at that time, as well as several other group fitness classes. In 2016, Josie chose to specialize in yoga and began offering yoga classes exclusively. She teaches yoga classes at the downtown YMCA, Body Calm, and other locations around Boise. She is currently registered through Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT200/RYT500.

"I love teaching yoga and there is nothing I would rather do. Yoga teaches us to live in the moment. The present moment is the only place where we are able to experience true joy. Helping others in learning to connect with themselves in order to become more open, strong, and present is the most rewarding work I have ever done.

Yoga has helped me discover my true nature. I am honored to share the gift of yoga with others."
